Fair Price Index™ Disclosure
Last updated: February 2026 · Effective: February 25, 2026
Overview
The Fair Price Index™ is an informational pricing indicator designed to help consumers understand where a vehicle’s advertised asking price generally falls relative to comparable vehicles currently available in the marketplace.
The Fair Price Index™ is intended to improve pricing transparency. It is not an appraisal, valuation, offer, guarantee, or prediction of future vehicle value.
Why you can trust the Fair Price Index™
Before the legal limitations, here’s what we designed for — in plain language.
Grounded in current pricing signals
The Fair Price Index™ compares vehicles against current comparable pricing signals rather than relying on a single legacy book value. Real market activity drives the result.
Updates as the market moves
Vehicle pricing changes frequently. The Fair Price Index™ reflects available market information at the time the analysis was generated and re-computes on each new run.
Context, not a directive
The Fair Price Index™ is designed to provide market context — not to dictate what you should pay. It works alongside inspections, vehicle history reports, and your own judgment.
Transparent limitations
When the comparable market is thin, the Fair Price Index™ reports lower confidence — or declines to classify at all — rather than pretending precision it does not have.
What the Fair Price Index measures
The Fair Price Index™ evaluates a vehicle’s asking price relative to comparable vehicles using available market data and proprietary analytical models.
Depending on available data, comparisons may include factors such as:

- Mileage
- Geographic market
- Vehicle configuration
- Market supply
- Current comparable pricing signals

Specific inputs may vary depending on data availability.
